Arrow Air intake, and questions...

So I have been looking for something to buy for my 01 dodge 2500. Right now I havent done anything to it besides straight piping the factory exhaust.

I was looking at the scotty intake from the dtr store, but it says not available...

I seen the K & N wasnt priced to bad, but I did a search and didnt find to many positive posts about the K & N.

Lots of people use a BHAF I seen.. I guess I will drop in to NAPA tomorrow and see what the price is on one.. Napa #2790 right?

If I get it what else do I need? Prefilter? Torque Tube? Heat Shield? It sure would be nice if I could get all of this stuff in one place. Do you all know where I can find it all in a one stop shop?

If all else fails with the intake maybe I will just buy an EZ, or VA.

You don't need anything else to run the BHAF. You could make a heat shield, and buy a pre filter www.outerwears.com The torque tube is a third gen thing.

But you don't really need one yet. The stock boxes flow a good amount of air. I would take the money and put it towards a box if I were you.

Sure lets it breath better to get the air flowing thru something other than the stock box. Even if you are still running stock..nothing like the cOOoO00ool outside air ...which would mean a Scotty Air System.....
Dont get much better than that..

Scotty II is the best system I ever found. Less expensive than most and will take you to where ever you want to go...HP wise....right up to twins!

Carl05 - PM'ed you on an available Scotty II Air Intake!

You might want to check with www.fleetfilter.com
I got my BHAF there for about $29.00. That was after I got a price of over $60.00 at NAPPY.

After you add in shipping, how much was it?

The EZ or VA will give you so much more for your performance dollar than any combination of intake and exhaust system out there, that they're not even on the same planet let alone being in the same ball park.

I've was running the BHAF for about 2 years and just swapped it out for the AFE stage I with torque tube and proguard 7 filter and holy mother of mary, night and day difference. I would recommend passing on the BHAF and saving your pennies and go with the AFE or Scotty II. Here are pics of both set ups.

The K&N FIPK is a good set up even though it has been taking hits about it's quality. I have been using one for 3 years and I have not had one problem. I see that Ford is using K&N in thier Cobra Mustangs now. Just putting on the FIPK my fuel economy went up 1 kilometer /litre. At the price of fuel it will pay it's way

Only problem with K&N is that a diesel will suck the oil out of your filter, and then allow dirt through. Especially when you increase boost past stock.
