The spacers can be used. They go at the bottom inside of the fender liner. They kind of make it bulge out, tho.

To use these bags without the spacers, the only other option is to trim your fender liner a bit where the bags would install.

We have done it both ways here in my driveway. Its a personal choice, both work fine.
