Aftermarket stereo installation question
This last weekend I installed an aftermarket stereo into my truck. One annoying thing - is how the you turn the key "on" and the radio comes on, but the rotation of the key to crank the motor momentarily cuts the radio off then right back on. This is made more annoying because all these silly new head units want to "talk" to you - so this one is slowed down because it takes a few seconds to run the text "goodbye" across the screen before turning off, then right back and and another delay while it says "hello".
I assume this would be remedied by drawing my accessory "on" wire from somewhere else that does not see that momentary cut in power. Is this possible, and does anyone know of a easily accessable wire?
thanks

I always shut my stereo of before I shut the truck down and then I turn it on after the truck is started
mine has a hidden flip face and if you leave it on it opens while waiting for the grid heater then closes up and reopens

If you want hook both the yellow wire and red wire from your deck to 12v+ constant on your truck. Then it will be on all the time but... you must shut the unit off each time you turn the truck off or your radio will stay on the whole night etc...
