Aftermarket PCM for 12V autos
is there such a thing? I am having a hard time finding a working one for my truck.
what all does the PCM controll?
I got one from someone and when I put it in, my alternator would not charge, my tach didn't work, my wait to start, trans temp and water in fuel lights did not light up when the key is turned on, also the OD switch didn't work (no light) and all of this stuff worked with my original one so I put it back in.
with both PCMs my tranny has no OD, the T/C never locks up unless I hit the switch, and it won't shift out of first gear until you let off the gas a little bit. this is what I have been trying to fix, and I have checked my TV cable, and my TPS. what else could it be if its not the PCM?

I'd take it to qualified tranny shop. They can hook a laptop up to it and go for a drive pinpointing the problem.
Most will do it for free.
You'll drive yourself crazy throwing parts at it.

Ya, I don't think its a computer problem. It sounds like something with the trans is kaput, temp sensor, pressure sensor or something of that nature..
