Aftermarket MPG Gauge?
I was wondering if there was a aftermarket unit that measure MPG. I know the Scangauge says it does but I was wondering if there was a stand alone unit that does. I have seen Autometer makes one but its only for newer vehicles.

The Scangauge is going to be your best/cheapest bet. Its fairly accurate on 2nd gens.
Anything else would take sensors in the fuel line to be super accurate.

Floscan (I think that's the company anyway) makes fuel flow gauges intended for the marine market that tie into both supply and return fuel lines and it gives you flow rate in gallons per hour. It's not really what you're looking for, but it's about the closest I've ever seen.

The ScanGauge II is pretty awesome for the money. It's totally customizable and is probably the best for what you are looking for. It's great that you can change cars easily, too....
