Aftermarket fuel filter systems
does anyone make a more user friendly fuel filter system for the 96 12V engine?
The current filter & location is a royal pain. it's really hard to get to and the wire dangling from the drain valve seems to get messed up where it comes out of the valve. I've replaced one cause it started leaking around the wires and my current one looks like it's due to start leaking anytime
Another question.
I must have bought some really dirty fuel in a little town in OK last week cuase my 2 month old filter plugged up on me. I tried to drain the fuel from the filter to use for refilling the new filter but it had alot of crap in it so I dumped it. To my surprise I couldn't get a siphon hose in the tank to fill the filter so I improvised. I had some diesel Kleen (gray bottle) so i filled my filter most of the way with that and topped it off with clean motoroil. After getting the filter back on I pummped to primer about 150 times and the truck fired right off with some grayish blue smoke then purred like a kitten. So was using the diesel kleen/ oil mix ok or should I try not to do that anymore?

I'm looking into putting a remote , maybe dual bypass filter system in , I've heard horror stories about bad fuel since before ever buying any.
I look at it as being a defencive statagy , like a firewall , if you do not make yourself a target then your much less likly to be hit.
And if you get hit bad enough then the filtering system can be cheaper than a new pump , injectors ect.
But I haven't decided what I'm going to put in yet , but the filters have to be easyly avalable.
