After Market Cam while fixing KDP???
Hey, Im probably gonna get around to fixin the KDP in the next couple months. Ive heard about some people installing aftermarket cams. What do these do??? Will they offer any hp/torque gains??? How much do they generally cost???
Thanks,
Sam

Not too sure on the cam, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to take out the intercooler, radiator, ect, to get the cam in. Just so you know before hand.

I was told the lower EGTs only and they cost around $1200. A cam doesnt make more hp, adding fuel does that. The performance cam lets more air in to cool the EGTs.

The cam will allow more air in and out lowering EGT,s allowing you to add more fuel = More HP. Your turbo will spool faster and reach full boost faster = More HP. Have fun enjoy your truck.

Diesel Dynamics camshaft for the 12 valve is one bad boy. I cant believe the driveability it has added to my truck. Turbo spool is much faster and even with a larger charger than I ran before the cam. With all the dyno and road testing these guys did...... the work has paid off. I was silly to wait so long to get one.
