AFE Proguard 7
Anyone here used the new AFE Proguard 7 yet? It's sold by Geno's now, at about $90. AFE says it meets Cummins' filtration standards, and flows 95% of what the oiled gauze AFE filters flow. Five gauze layers and two unwoven synthetic "paper" layers.
I've been using a BHAF; thought I'd try it.

Re:AFE Proguard 7
I have one of the older aFe air filters, I went to it from the K&N because the K&N has a solid end cap on it, and the aFe I have is open on the end, it uses filtration material so air gets in through the end as well as the sides. The Pro Guard 7 has a solid end cap, like the K&N, so I am not really interested in switching.
Some on another site replied to my question about this, and in addition to confirming the solid end cap, also said he had been told that supposedly very, very little air actually enters the filter through the open end anyway, it almost all enters through the sides. I don't really buy that theory, but I also not an airflow expert. Besides, since I had the Psychotty setup with my K&N, I have the 4 1/2" hole in my cowl, and the end of my aFe filter is sitting right there, so I figured a fair amount of air does get sucked into the end of the thing.

Re:AFE Proguard 7
Tom,
If you get a chance and if you feel like it see if you are getting dust/fine sand through the AFE Magnum Flow filter. I pulled off the intake hose and saw sand in the ribs and on the compressor housing. It seems the filter is letting junk through like a bad sealing drop-in K&N.
I Up-Graded to the AFE Pro-Guard 7 and love it. VERY HIGH quality filter. Almost looks like paper. NO pin holes.
