well i found the price of south bends on ats's web site. the clutch i was wanting to get is the same price as the iron giant $2300. so now you guys have me going with south bend. the one thing thing that made me decide is if i ever do blow this clutch after a few pulls or something goes wrong with it i'm sure peter would back his product better than any of the other guys. one more question if the clutch i was wanting is the same price as the iron giant should i just get the giant. they are almost the same cutch both have 12 feramic buttons but the giant has a 4200# pressure load and the one i was looking at has a 3850# pressure load. SBC does not recommend the giant for street use though. what do you guys think

the thing with the Giant is that it has different material in the clutch pucks. Its not that bad to drive but the clutch effort is more so its harder on the left leg. I burnt up the 1st vershion of the 3850 but Peter did a lot of work on this new clutch and it hooks harder under WOT launches than the old clutch and with all the new stuff added to the clutch I thinks its going to be a winner. I love the new clutch and will know what its made of next year

The 3850 is NOT a speed-shifting clutch. Any clutch that weighs 104lbs cannot be fast to shift. I figured this out at the drag strip this summer. However, I'm willing to sacrifice speedy shifting and only run 14.03s quarter miles to be able to hold >600rwhp with ease. You're more than welcome to meet me somewhere and see if you like the feel of the SBC DD. I'm over here in Hilliard. PM or email me if you want to take me up on the offer.
