Or at least try the J's pump stretch and timing recommendations? Wow they really woke my truck up. 2200 fuel stretch, 10 timing with 75% scaling. Breaking the tires loose from a roll in third gear = fun.

No! Still breaking in new head/gasket and taking it easy. Only played with newest ADR1000 on hwy at cruise!
Any suggestions. (probably need to read this thread for the last two weeks ).

Thanks GFB but what does that have to do with surging?

Not sure but it sure is fun. Actually it doesn't surge on my truck though, so in a round about way I guess it fits with the thread.

There's been nothing but smiles in my truck since I've started playing with the custom tuning.

There is a max timing setting, but also a timing scaling. See my post in this forum where I got an explanation of it from quad.

I will try it soon! Actually makes some sense. I've seen it where I got less surge from ADR2000 than ADR1000, so it may be better?

EDIT: 12:30 - Just tried new (10/21) Comp Tune, no custom tuning, on Hwy at 60, 70, 80 mph. NO SURGE!!
Glad I waited before filling in surge form on Quads Web site!

After putting about 1k miles on the new tune, the truck surges only a SLIGHT amount, but has great power. Doesn't surge at cruise, or WOT. It only surges when I accelerate at maybe 50% TPS, and start to lift as I approach my desired speed.

It's so minute that even though it needs the new firmware, I'm in no rush to get it fixed as I'm very happy with it in every other way.

With big injectors, try lowering your fuel stretch a little. Then play with the tps min & pump min settings, set both minimums at 30 & see if that helps with the surge. The lower the min settings, the more aggressive the fueling off idle.

I haven't played with timing scale yet, my truck is still down. When I get it back, I'll mess with it.

You are close enough to us that you should really swing by one day and let us do the upgrade. It will take less than 5 minutes, in and out total. You have an auto and big sticks, that is the worst recipe for surging and I think the firware update will fix it 110%.

Worse case scenario send it to us and we can turn it around the same day we get it.

I just ran the new comp tune in my truck. It ran great and surge free on level 3. The problem is that I could not get the level to increase past pl3?

Unplug and plug back in?

Nope, you probably are running Tune 1 or Tune 2 by accident.

Go into the custom tuning menu and select the Factory Default as the tune you want to run and see if it returns.

If that does not work go into the menu and see if the # of Power Levels is set to 4. 4 Power Levels = 0-3

PS. I bet the jump from PL02 to PL03 is quite large!!!
