adrenaline problem.....!
Ok, bought the ADR from a guy on another site, hooked everthing up last night and tapped the pump wire with the provided tap... and went for a test drive felt like it had some more power but DID not smoke one bit, so went back and uploaded the comp tune and tested it, a little more smoke but about the same power level, when I mean power I mean like my old 01 with an edge ez on it and it smoked more......I was getting really low boost on the pulse so checked all the connections and figured that my map was out so went to dodge to get a new one=$120 replaced it now Im getting NO smoke and almost stock power level???even with the dyno tune!but my boost is up to a now record high 17psi?before it would only say 12?o and also the egt's never get over 1200*Y is this thing not fueling, I mean I thought this thing was like the smarty for the 3rd gens?O and another thing the tranny which I believe is stock, never slipped out, the smarty on my 3rd gen would slip the tranny on the 90hp setting easy......fuel pressure at the IP is 11psi rock solid too, Is there something wrong with my truck or is the box bad, I mean the truck ran fine without it, or should I say what a stock truck would run, I really got ****** when a stock powerpuke blew me out the water while I was stuggling to get up to speed....sorry for the long post i just have been trying to figure this out since yesterday and I don't want the spend more money if I don't have too.....
Thanks
Justin

I'd redo it, or pull the insulation back and solder the wire to it. My tap seems to wiggle loose on a weekly basis, so I'll end up soldering as well. Does upping the levels from 0 to 1, 1 to 2, etc... make more power each time? 1 stronger than 0? Is 2 stronger than stock?
I ask because you should be making more power on PL02 than stock even if the wire tap is bad. If it's bad, anything above PL02 won't make a difference.

ok, sodered the pump wire this morning and took it for a test drive, I can feel the different power in each level all the way up to 10 and the egts are up to so I know its fueling, but it has NO low end power I mean its like stock to about 1800rpms then I can FEEL the truck just take off. I was expecting this box to be like the smarty for the 3rd gen truck, o boy I was wrong it doesn't even compare, I don't know maybe there is something wrong with the box?my truck? tried all the comp and dyno tunes really doesn't make a difference from what I can tell...I just know Im not doing something right.....

Sounds normal to me. Does it smoke alot until it spools, than clear out when your truck takes off? Auto or stick? I read your stock except ADR, have you upgraded your lift pump???? VP's are expensive.

umm.....yeah got a stock lift pump but I read 10psi all the time except when I really get on it drops down to like 7psi or so.....if this normal how do I get more low end? smarty? and its very eratic sometimes like it doesn't know when to add more fuel or something, sometimes when i stop at a red light It feels soooo slugglish but then it "engages" at about 1800rpm then off I go.....not what i call smooth....

With the pulse you can control fueling (not yet, should be available soon). Other than that you'd have to try some more aggressive tunes.
You can stack a smarty, but unless money is no object you're already on borrowed time with a stock transmission and you're just gonna kill it trying to get it to leave the hole harder. Dodge built these transmissions REAL loose so that the torque of the diesels wouldn't grenade them.
