Adrenaline Issues ?

I accidently posted this on the 24v engine and drivetrain, OOPS . Anyway, here is my issue:
I have a 2001 24V. I purchased Quadzilla's Adrenaline with Pulse monitor back in June. I installed it on the truck but did not land the fuel wire at the time. I just wanted a little more power to tow my trailer, and did not want all that the module could offer at the time so level 2 was perfect. I finally got the urge to utilize the capability of the module so a few weeks ago I purchased a pump cover from Blue Chips to use as a means of landing the fuel wire rather than piercing the wire on the VP44. I installed the cover and set the screw, then landed the fuel wire. First off, after I purchased the Module back in june I noticed that I could not feel an increase in power from level 0 to 1 but a very noticable power increase from level 1 to 2. Now after the fuel wire is landed I still feel no power from 0 to 1, but more dissapointing I find that I still have no aditional power/smoke/boost from level 2 up to 10 not even a difference in EGT's. My first thaught was that the module was bad, luckly I have a brother with the same setup. I installed his Adrenaline in my truck but the result was no different, I guess that rules out a bad module. I can measure 12.6 volts on the fuel wire with the ignition on which tells me that the fuel wire circuit is good. I am wondering if there may be a problem with the engine ecm or with the VP44. My thaught however, is if there was a problem with the ecm or VP44, why would I get power on level 2, I would think that I would not get power at any level. Which brings me to my final thaught. Could the Pulse controller/monitor, or the communication between the Adrenaline and the Pulse cause the Adrenaline not to respond to the power levels that I select? Has anyone seen or heard of such an issue or have any light on the subject?

Level 1 is timing only, level 2 is can bus fueling and level 3 and up use the wire tap for additional fueling. You probably won't feel much performance difference between 0 and 1 anyway. As for not noticing any difference on the different levels, and having ruled out a bad Adrenaline; it has to be your wire tap that is not secure. You may have under torqued the screw, or even worse over torqued the screw. If it's not that, it's one of your other connections that is not secured or wired properly. Double and triple check all connections and the problem will most certainly go away. Sorry this doesn't sound like much help, but I am positive your problem lies therein.

Thanks for the info, I spend a few hours this afternoon thoroughly checking the fuel wire circuit. I took my Ohm meter and checked from the pin on the connector of the adrenaline all the way past the VP44 by probing into the wire that you would typically tap into. I had a good circuit all the way. Im wondering now if the wire on the Adrenaline connector is not in the right location, luckly I can look at my brother's harness and see, Il be driving the truck over there this evening, who knows, maybee by moving wires around and probing around something changed. Beyond that I have no more ideas

After fiddling with the wiring at the VP44 and at the Adrenaline, the Engine is definetly putting out level 10 power, smoke, boost ect. Im not sure where the problem was but it is now working. Thanks for the help.

Glad to hear things are finally working for you! I am sure you must have quite the grin on your face now...
Those wiring issues sure can be troublesome.

I do have a smile on my face, I cant beleive how powerful it is. I wonder what it would be like to ride in your truck, it looks like you have some pretty great modds. I think my next upgrade will be the Tranny, I still have the original 47RE and I can slip the clutches pretty easily. I can put it in torque converter lockup and hit the accelerator and it slipps enough that the Pulse cannot display the slip percentage.

Take it easy on your tranny. It's a lot cheaper to beef it up while it's still functioning rather than have to repair it. I know it's hard to do though...

These are wise words. I took out my trans after 6 weeks with the Adrenaline. I now have a built one and my Dyno #'s are below in my sig.
Have fun, but remember the Adrenaline WILL find the weak links in your truck
