The boost elbow just controls how much boost your turbo makes. The more you turn in the elbow the higher the boost goes. Higher boost if you stay in the range of the turbo will actually cool your EGT's, lower boost means you aren't burning all the added fuel which will raise your EGT's.

Easy way to check to see if it's where you need to be, is to set it and see how much smoke you have coming out while in the throttle. If you are seeing a lot of black smoke while in the throttle.......try screwing it in more till the smoke clears up and then you'll be good. Smoke on the low end is alright, but a lot of smoke up top isn't......... hope that helps!

Is the elbow screwed all the way in?? If not try it and see what it does. 35psi won't hurt it, but you could probably bump that up a little bit to hopefully cool you down.

Ok screwed elbow in all the way and boost peged 35psi real fast. Was towing truck and egt way to hi could not keep under 1100 on little incline on highway.screwed elbow out better but egt still very high. with O.D. off and tc locked at 60mph egt at 900 get into it for hill and 1200 real guick and not at wot. Looks like no smoke while in the throttle(only at low end)
when i screw it in(the elbow )does that give more fuel or less. With stock turbo boost gauge broke egt were real low.new turbo was going to help egt
any 2c

Eskimo found his best egts at 41 psi with a hybrid 35/40 on a 12ver. Try blocking off the wastegate and see what happens.
