Adding BD Diesel exh. manifold and CFM intake.

![Question](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
1.) Will this make the truck any louder?
2.) I have read here where people say it makes the turbo spool up faster. I hate to reveal my ignorance here, but what does that mean in terms of the trucks performance? Can I (for example) expect better mileage, more HP, more Torque?
Finally, will chicks dig it?

The exhaust manifold won't give you a different truck sound, however the CFM Intake will. You'll probably be able to hear the turbo more through the intake, compared to when it was stock. The intake and manifold will probably help with initial spool up and top boost numbers. I'm not sure if it's enough to show/feel power increases, but you may see the spool up difference.

the faster your turbo spools ( spins, creates boost) the sooner in the rpm you will get your hp. Which will feel like more power cause your truck will feel stronger on the bottom end. I hope that helps.

2nd gens don't benefit from the intakes like the 3rd gens do. Any change in spool will not be perceptible and will almost always add zero power. In fact, the mods listed should not add any measurable Hp unless you had a banana lodged in the tailpipe.
You will probably see a small EGT decrease if your air filter is non restrictive.

Youll feel the spool up difference especially if you had a bigger turbo. It will make more power and torque down low as the boost will come on sooner. ad for the Intake well you can buy a CFM+ or you could by one like mine for half the cost that does the same job either way it will again help boost come on sooner but its not as obvious from a dead stop . passing and etc. you can tell a difference. Boost also went up with the intake as well. Since boost will kick on sooner that means you have to use the go pedal less to get it moving n etc which means more mpg.

Thanx to all.
My exhaust manifold gasket is leaking a little and I decided to swap out the stocker rather than just re-gasket.
Nobody said whether chicks would dig it, so I am gonna take that as a no
