acceleration stops at 2500 rpm
#16
Thanks for the advice. I'm not mechanically inclined...how would i go about doing this...is there anything online with instructions on how to do this? Thanks again. By the way, I'm proud to say that I won a stop light race with a subaru Sti earlier this evening. Gave him the thumps up, but he didn't seem to happy being left behind by an 8000 lb diesel.

You need a helper to sit in the driver's seat and slowly push the throttle pedal to the floor. As he does this, you will be under the hood with your hand on the throttle lever on the injection pump. (Follow the linkage rod rearward from the bellcrank where the cables hook up. The rear of the rod attaches to the throttle lever on the pump.) When the helper tells you the pedal is firmly on the floor, you make sure the lever is firmly against its stop and won't travel any further. If the lever is not yet at the end of its travel when the pedal is on the floor, you need to make an adjustment. Sometimes you can grab the throttle pedal and bend it up enough to help, sometimes you need to adjust the linkage rod under the hood. Clear as mud?
