acceleration stops at 2500 rpm

Hi everyone, my mods are listed below. Acceleration stops at 2500 rpm when driving on the freeway, and can't find a reason for this since i've installed a 3000 gsk to get around this problem. It accelerates quickly and with very little effort to 80 mph, then from there, the power and acceleration just dies off. I can accelerate past 80mph, but I definitely have to put the pedal to the metal. Is this normal? l Can anyone give me any recommendations? Thank you.

You trying to cram that much fuel through a stock turbo? Maybe the high drive pressure is killing your topend.

I would say its the GSK I put a 4K on mine and it would go to 4K+ with the stock 35 ( i have a better turbo now) it just got realy hot. It may also be that you are not getting enough fuel to the injection pump.

I agree with FirstGen, you may be running out of fuel.

Will this problem be solved with 191 Delivery Valves, or would I need a fass fuel system?

The proper way to find out is to check your fuel pressure.

I've had the same problem in the past and the fix is a little expensive. Its your APPS to check if it is bad take a volt meter and plug into the orange wire with white tracer, electrical connection closest to engine, passenger side fire wall. (may be wrong on colors) (do a search APPS on DTR) Turn key on, engine off and slowly step on gas pedal and watch the voltage, should start out at about .5 volts as you slowly press on the pedal volts will go up watch closely if volts suddenly drop and go away than bad APPS

Make sure your throttle linkage is adjusted properly to allow wide open throttle.

Yep, and make sure the shut-off is lifting up the whole way

What is your timing set at? I know on my truck 14.5* timing would quit accelerating hard at about 2400-2500rpm, and 17.75* starts falling off around 2900rpm. Because I want better fueling to 4000rpm I am going to retime my truck to 21* and see how that works...

Thanks for the advice. I'm not mechanically inclined...how would i go about doing this...is there anything online with instructions on how to do this? Thanks again. By the way, I'm proud to say that I won a stop light race with a subaru Sti earlier this evening. Gave him the thumps up, but he didn't seem to happy being left behind by an 8000 lb diesel.
