ok i just bought an edge comp box for my dads '01 and it said 98.5-02 well the box says 98.5-00 and the map sensor is wrong so i'm looking for the adapter for the '01 map sensor as im guessing thats all im going to need to hook this up for him..........so anybody got one laying around

That box won't hook up to the '01-'02. The voltages on the MAP sensor are different. There is a seperate box that works for the '01 and '02 trucks.

01 and 02 are different, Cummins supersedes the map sensor to the 01 style now. There is n adapter harness with the 02 harness end and an 01 map end. if you have an 01 and the box is for an 02 we have the harness adapter, its like 12$ if its pre 01 you probably need to contact edge for their adapter. I think they are 35$

What about not plugging the MAP in at all... I dont know for sure which one it is, either the juice or comp throw crazy smoke with the MAP unplugged...

You still need the factory MAP sensor harness plugged into the Edge harness. You just unplug the edge harness from the MAP sensor.

A 98.5-2000 Comp WILL NOT WORK on an 01-02 truck...PERIOD! The voltages are different, and so is the programming!

1998.5-2000 MAP sensors are totally different from the 01 and 02 - different calibration and output.

The 01 and 02 MAP sensors, although functionally equivalent to each other, have different connectors.

ok then anybody want to trade an edge comp or any adjustable in cab box for an '01 for this now useless to me bassicly brand new still in box only used for 1000 miles edge come for a 98.5-2000??? please this is for my dads truck and now i feel like an a$$ because i told him this would work on his truck wiht just an adaptor as i was told thanks
