Wow really. Well hel I wanna be gettin that 45 psi they say they can handle.
So should I drop to the more common 62/65/14? or 12? still with 110 sticks?
My truck is a dd and tows a few times a week but rarely ever more then 5k +- a bit.
Also I plow snow, and wanna stay in check on the 1/4 m.
Im stickin with II PS's just wanna be sure to get the right size.

Im running a Silver64 (64/74/14) from II.
It is one bad turbo. It will start to spool at 1600 and at 1750 its at 55psi.
It pulls like a freight train all the way to defuel.
Only problem is it sucks for towing. When I was towing my 7k camper, I had ZERO problems with it.
The new camper is close to double the weight and its not that great.
BTW, this is on my 12 valve.
On you 24 it will be alot better due to how much better your head flows.
If your interested, I will be selling it probably this week.
Its about a year old, with aroun 9000 miles on it.
Never sledpulled or drag raced. My truck is a daily driver.

I suspect that your tach is moving so fast that your 1750 is more like 2K.

It SUCKS as a towing turbo.
WHY, Do you think 1750 is good?
I shift a gear, give it throttle and its LAG, LAG, LAG, LAG and then BAM, 55psi.
My 62/65/14 was a great towing turbo. I could get 45psi at 1400rpm after I had the head P&Pd.
If the head wasnt P&Pd, 2000rpm would be realistic. Even then, guys with 12 valves and Silver Bullets can spool them before 2000rpm.
HOHN, you need to stop reading turbo manuals, and actually try one. Just like your sig. says.
I remember you BEFORE you worked at Cummins, trying to convince people about turbo selections.
Remember, I have a fully ported and polished head.
Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but its only an opinion if you cant back it.

On a stock 12v head, my 62/71 starts to come alive around 1700 rpm. 55 psi at 1750 would be spectacular.
As for the silver bullet, it is just starting to come alive at 2k rpm. Thats on a 24v with a decent amount of fuel. Definitely not as friendly for low rpm driving as the 62.

See thats exactly what I dont want. I need my turbo to lite before 2k cause my towing is all around town stop and go @4,500 ft.
Dont get me wrong Id like to have a 62/71 for sure, but for what I use the truck for I think that would be too big and make me smokey around here.

So after your head was ported and polished, it developed more restriction at a lower RPM and thus makes boost sooner? Sounds like an awesome port and polish job. Must have removed all of the factory swirl pattern and created non-laminar flow through the head.

my 62/71/14 HTT with my mods love it. I dont think it spools to slow for a 6 speed on 35's but take away my smarty and I wouldnt know what to do. its great with my mach 4's I live at 500-800 elevation when I drive to 5-6000k elevation I will barely hit 1150 at most this is killing a hill at 70 miles per hour. I think the 62/71/14 you would be happy with. call around ask rip at sourceautomotive.biz knows his work and his turbos he could at least give you some education and bs with you. he will beat anyones price. great bunch there.

Before head the 62/65/14 would be at full spool around 1550rpm, with about 53psi of boost
After head full spool was around 1400rpm, with about 45psi of boost, and my egts were down 100*.
I was running the 62/65/14, with 140hp injectors, wit a 5sp., on a 97 12valve.
