66/12 vs 66/16

i see you can buy from one extreme to the other of the sled puller 66 turbo but my question is what is the better way to go smaller or larger exhaust housing

i am going to buy this turbo but i am up in the air on the exhaust housing size

i have never really been clear about this area

can any one elaborate

if its going in that truck in your sig.. youll have a ton of turbo lag... you need waaay more fuel then that. Generally the bigger the exhaust housing the bigger potential you'll have for lag but you get less heat. but it depends on the fuel you have as well. if you have more then enough fuel to spool the 66/12 the turbo will spool quick but a ton of heat all the way to topend. if you take that same amount of fuel and add it to a 66/16 you may not spool as quick but you will have less heat all the way to top end

the 12cm will spool but
because of the comp. size it will be a little laggy the bigger the exhaust side the more power potential up high but slower spool the 12cm will choke at high RPMs EGTs will sore. with a auto trans its less a problem with the bigger 16cm

Go 16 stainless, spool as good as the 12 housing, no cracks, room for giggle gas.

What do you plan on doing with the truck and what injectors do you plan to run.

probly will start with a smarty ontop of my edge with jammer 5s cause they are cheap and later probly move to mach 6s if im not satisfied which will porbably happen any way

it will be a weeknd warrior sled puller but i still wanna be able to drive it on occasion

i only really tow small trailers with like two quads on it for races at the most

thats about it

i had a sled puller 66 i thought it was a horrible charger. my sps62 was a better turbo it ran alot cooler and spooled about the same. the sled puller only has a 65mm turbine wheel. where the sps62 has a 71mm. the sled puller usto surge alot due to the turbine being smaller than the compressor. i had the exact setup you want to do with the edge comp, smarty, 150hp injectors with the sps62 (62/71/14). is the truck a standard or auto?

I would go for a 62/71/14 over a 66/65/14 any day. I really dont know why they make a 66/65 not the best combo.

I have ran a B-1 Steroid 62/71/16 IIRC, PRO Street 66, and 64/71/13 and If you were leaning towards the pro street I would consider the Silver Bullet. I think it's a better turbo then the PS 66. And then there's also Turbonetics Hp-66/68/.84 kit http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/...38#/d150e238/1 You can go to their dodge page.

No I havent ran one but have seen alot of guys with very simular combos that look to perform better then what my PS 66 was doing. I personally think you would be better off with a smaller charger.
