Cool 65hp question....

Ok, I'm looking at putting the BullyDog, torque dog on my 01 and would like to not have to mess with anything else, especially anything fuel related....would 65hp be ok and not do anything else or would I be asking for trouble down the road??? I don't want to put a lot of money into this truck. Or any other suggestions?? Thanks!!

That's what I'm thinking too, but just want to double check.

I was fine with the 65 hp. When I added the RV injectors, that pushed it to far and ended the life of the stock TC. Course, guages aren't a bad idea either.

Ok, so I get a gauge. What good will it really do other than let me know when things are about to crash? Can I really avoid things that way? I had about 5 gauges on my old 01, and fuel pressure was one. What's safe levels on that gauge to watch???

it should at least be 5psi or better any less and the vp will be running dry!! If pressure is not any better then 5 then you need a new lift pump.

Ok, cool. I'm trying to do it as cheap as possible but want to avoid anything bad down the road as well. I'll look into how much this all is gonna cost, shouldn't be too much more. I was able to get one of those chips new for $375, for my other 01. Should've kept it! But it went with the truck when I sold it. Oh well.

I had the torque dog before the Adrenaline. Very capable box and delivers just what they say. Noticeable increase and switch on the fly. I second, or third, whatever number I am the use of a fuel pressure gauge.

If I were you id check out the new FASS replacement pump that bolts directly in the place of the factory lift pump, rather than the FASS 95 or HPFP kit that bolts on the frame. Cheap at around 200 bux for some insurance. Might check the pressure at the injector pump right after installation then I wouldnt worry too much about a guage from that point forward....I havent. Next, if you are still looking for a 65hp box for an 01, I know where there is an EDGE EZ for sale in Stephenville for around 300 and its nearly new.
