#6 Injector

I've read lots of info on changing out injectors. Some
people say "easy,no problem" others say not so easy.
My question to those that have is, any special tricks on
replacing #6 injector. First 5 don't look to bad ,but the
#6 under the cowl looks like it may take some time.

Just put a 19mm crows foot on a "swivel type" torque wrench. Snap-on makes a very nice one. It torques in in/lbs or ft/lbs. It vibrates and beeps when you get to the preset torque.

Good luck.

put some cloth around your knuckles, so when the nut breaks loose you wont smash them...atleast not too bad. its a pain, but you get over it fairly quick when the result is installed.

Sacrafice an extra 19mm open end wrench you have and cut it in about half. Then remove that lifting bracket thats bolted to the intake plenum in the back. Do that and its not bad at all, actually its just fine. Just did another set for a friend. Total time 2.5 hours including removing the 6 injectors, changing out all the injector nozzles with stage 4 EDMs on the bench and re-installing them.

As Kevin stated above... just use a 19mm stubby and it's no problem to reach it. I just installed my Don M's 1.6's last weekend! I'm all now! Take your time and do one at a time. It's no problem! Phil

Nope. I just use the 19mm open end on all of them. Using the 'that feels about right' arm torque wrench. Never had a problem with fuel leakage.

Anyway, if you are using a torque wrench on a crowsfoot, then the actual torque is not the same as the indicated torque since the devices are rotating around different centers.
