I do not beleive that you want to weld the mounts to your frame. I put a Reese 16k slider in my 2002 sb and only had to drill 8, 1/2" holes. That was the hardest part. Just make sure to measure and then measure again. You have to be sure of the location. I now have a 2005 sb and I installed a Pullrite Super Glide. It slides automatically for worry free manuvering. A little pricey at $2000.00 versus around $750.00 for the Reese. You will probably want to put a 7 pin connector in your bed also. Go to www.hitchcorner.com .

Don't remember what brand, etc. But when we used to pull our 24 foot cattle trailer. All we had was the Cab and Chasis model, but we only had 4 wholes drilled, then 4 Bolts(Huge ones) above the Axle.
