500hp too muck for stock lp??

hey guys well i haven't hit 500hp yet, but those are the numbers i plan to hit with twins, but i was wondering if i need to upgrade my fuel system at all. i have a 1995 diesel so its got the stock piston lift pump if im not mistaken. will it be okay at 500hp, at what hp level should i upgrade it?? thanks, i have a fuel pressure gauge but im still in the process of putting the truck together so i don't know what fp im running now. thanks

I raised mine to 45 psi at idle and it is ticking, It will do 30-35 cruising and won't go below 20psi at wot. I am about to run 1/2" i.d. line from the fuel tank, to a free to me 24v lift pump, then to the factory 12v pump. I think it should flow enough, I'll let you know.

As stated in another post..

with a good 215 pump My opinion is that you can hit about 550-600 rwhp. I am a tad over 500 rwhp with a stock LP, with just a modded OFV. The FP is what keeps the pump goin.. and HP up. I know that the OFV is good for about 8-10 psi, and the stock LP is good to about 15 psi or so...

I have twins, and never see FP below 25 psi, at WOT... I have 40 at idle, and it fluctuates a bit dependent on fuel tank level, fuel viscosity, temperature outside as well..

As brandon stated. the stock LP is probably being overworked at 45 psi and its ticking, either that or its gone bad, i have 40 psi outta mine and no ticks...
