5000 rpm GSK?

ok i know a very smart...guy...

he asked me about the governor spring kit, i told him about the piers 4k...

later i hear he has ordered some 5000 RPM GSK and some bigger injectors for 1000 bucks...

now the prob is, he has no clue what injectors he ordered, through another guy who has no clue about 12 valves...

are there even 5K GSK?
i know piers stoopid pump revs?pulls over 5K... but the bottom end needs to be copmpletly balanced...

I don't know who sells them but I think I've heard of a kit before. I deffinently wouldn't want to rev that high on a stock bottom end.

Yes the 5k kits do exist. I know of at least one person who can get those springs (and got me some even bigger ones for my pump), but he's not a vendor here.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, unless he's gonna have the rotating assy balanced and blueprinted.

well that guy has been askin me about recomendation on mods. now he never calls again. he decided to go his own way...

just another thing... he wont use a pyro, cuz then he is worried... like this he isnt.

another guy told me, installing some short tubes, the size of the inner springs, instead of the GSK, would rev that lil pump... true? probs?

yup i know the bottom end needs to be balanced and everything is that easy. or is it a very proffesional job? to how much RPM can a stock bottom end rev/pull

Not sure what generation your smart guy has but on a 96-98 stock bottom end you're looking at:

Destructive torsional harmonic resonance occurs at 4100 RPM
Crank and rods fail at 5400 RPM (if you make it through 4100 RPM)

None of which sounds very good... I don't know what a blue printed and balanced bottom end would gain you?

Im pretty sure that it is only if you hold it at 4100rpm though if you zip right past it you will be fine. I know plenty of trucks that do this.
