5000 miles today with 370's and 191's

Well,

the only thing i have to comment on this setup now is, that i see what all you guys have said about the stumble. i HATE 370's, thats right i hate them. Greatest thing in the world they were for a little while, but now i cannot stomach that surging that comes from the incorrect spray pattern, backin a trailer, or tryin to take off slow in traffic does not seem to work very well at all with these injectors. I now kick myself in the keyster for selling off my 215 injectors, But you live and learn. These things are the PDR 370's and i have not had that famous idle haze that many of you guys experience, but that surging and what not has already gotten on my last nerve. I have to take off in 1st low just to minimize it. The setup, along with a 2/3 position forward 100 plate, 1/2 starwheel, and full back AFC, really gives a nice kick in the pants tho in the top end. It also helps to have the timing set to 16.5, as I do, But its farr to much fuel with the setting any higher than that. I can be smoke free unless i get on it at WOT, even then its still greyish, closer to black tho. Truck dynos at 350 or so with this setup, a cruddy clutch, and lack of air help none. I feel im losin at least 40-50 horses due to smoke.

Once i get better employment, u can bet that you will find my 370s goin up for sale on DTR, For a beginners BOMB, they are pretty darn sweet, but if you do alot of intown driving or trailer backing, MAN, they are not that much fun.

Final comment on this is simple, save up your money and go with DDP stage 3 or 4 injectors. I dont know much about those New era 435 horse ones that have been talked about, but for me tryin to build cheap horsepower, i guess its gotten to me, and i figured i should have put in some delivery valves instead (laser cuts) with my 215s, at least i wouldnt be surging. Had I my old injectors back, id run the 191's with them..

Anyways, this is not meant to burst any bubbles or differ from anyones opinions, just wanted to express my own with running this setup.

Thanks for readin

Rick

Sorry to hear that you don't like them Rick, as for the 435's I've riden in a truck that has them and they are very smooth injectors. But they put out a lot of fuel. One of my buddys is wanting to run them but I'm being told he won't be able to keep his EGT's in check. They might be something to look into farthur down the road once you get your twins installed and everything else you need. I'm also looking at getting a set of them, and getting rid of the 370's

I feel like I started a trend

I dump a set, then eveyone starts to get rid of them

For the new truck...Air, Check. Tranny, will be checked, Fuel=913 pump, Laser Cuts, and Don M's. I'm only buying 2 more sets of injectors (1 set of 215s, then my EDMs)

I HATE 370's,
Chris

Do you get an improvement with upgrading the delivery valves and not the injectors? Like if I went to 191's from my current 130's and left the stock 160 injectors in there?

you would get a lot more fuel to the injectors. and would probably give a decent power boost.

I did...made 402 with stock injectors!!!

Found a truck in Texas.....HERE!!!

Had a buddy stop in a look at it, and take it for a drive this morning...he was impressed!! As soon as the salesman gets out of the hospital, I'm gonna see what we can work out

As far as turbos go on it...probably gonna be a PS62/GT42 combo to start, and see how far that takes me...then I'll slide my B2 under there and see if I pick anything up. After I put in my head, cam, 913 pump, DTT tranny (that'll take a while), and a set of wild stick After that, I might try a little giggle gas if I feel the need

Nice looking truck I'd buy it if I didn't have mine already, what kind of power are you shooting for?

Whatever I get

I'm not going wild...maybe 650. It all depends on how much I can get without major smoke They're starting to crack down on those stupid people that smoke out EVERYTHING at every stoplight their at

I save my smoke for those more deserving

wow, different strokes I guess... that truck is FUGLY!!!!

as for the 370's? I had them in my 97 for about 50k miles w/ stock DV's... no stumbling... made 439rwhp w/ only 12* timing

not using them again though, the 98's getting DDP4's
