while you are that far in the motor (head off) may as well slap in a decent cam, especially if you are going to spend the time and money to port the head. Youare taking care of one restriction but the valve (how far and when it opens) is the next one. i know i really like my cam.

im at that same delema everyone gets i wont want to dump 20 grand into my motor ten yea maybe but 20..... uhgggg.... for the stuff i listed that should get me a cool 500 hp right? not a crazy hot 500 hp cause i'd like to tow my toyota rock crawler around. im guessing for all the stuff i listed if i just drop it off at a shop about 10-11 grand should get all that motor work done for me, and then i figure 6300 for a tranny that i will install. and gears and a locker for the rear that i will instll as well. so thats about 17-18 grand to be done. i thought about twins and a cam but then your just adding another 5 grand to everything... plus i want to overbuild everything..... ex head that holds 85 lbs of boost but only give it 60 max. tranny that can hold 1000HP and 2000lbs of tq but only give it 500hp/1000tq. am i crazy thinkin this way of what. i mean 500 hp should get me in front of those m-3 bmw's and keep up with the sti's. and allow me to do a nice truck pull.

i dont think your crazy, thats what im in the process of doing as well. except instead of 500 hp, im aiming for more like 700 hp on #2 only, and so far its costing a pretty penny to get just what i have dont now. and the sad thing is i dont think ive got more then MABYE 290-300 hp . i figure the way im seeing it, im still at least another $15-17,000 away from being where i want to be, not to mention the fact that i want to lift it more at some point too. i wish i had a money tree growing out back, cause making that kind of money aint so easy.

yea i think 500 will be easy to get to 700 on strait number#2 is going to be $$$$$ im guessing twins for you, i have seen it done on a 24v with nos and a single. im not 100% against some propane or something but if i can i'd love to not need it, i just dont think its good for it. water meth is just a ***** to tune and u always need to fill the tank or get the upgraded tank thing but still in cali its hard to get meth. well we will see i think 10K for the motor and 6 for the tranny and 1500 for the gears and then i should be there.

700 is going to be a ***** to do without drugs. another thing that im up against is i want to just run a big single instead of twins, unless thats what it comes down to. im thinking about a ss62/13 over a s400 if i do have to go the twin route, but ive been told that this wont flow enough air???? but i know that ive got a guy thats going to do all of my head work for like $1,100, im going to get a new cam, new pistons, intercooler, propane, nitrous, water/meth, headstuds, different clutch, turbo(s), more pump work, injectors, 191 dv's, and i know im forgetting alot more stuff that i need to get, and the sad thing is that ive got to buy another work truck now because i blew up my work truck last night .
