500 HP 12 valve?

What would it take to get 500 hp out of a 96 12 valve?

So its not real hard to do? As long as your wallet can handle it.

Not too hard to do

My best dyno has been 516 horses with the following recipe.. Mind you this is with a 215 horse engine.. comes with the 5 speed tranny automatically. Determine what engine u have... but subtract about 40 horses or so to get equal numbers with a 180 pumped truck

4K GSK
100 plate
16.5 degrees timing
370 injectors
Laser cut delivery valves
Twins HX35/14 over S400

Last dynos were 429 and 450 respectively, BUT i went back to 181 delivery valves.. Im lookin for more, but that will require better injectors, a pump calibration, and more timing....

Hope this helps

Rick
Good clutch to hold it all

On a 215 pumped truck a 4GSK, 140hp injectors, 16*+ timing, a #100 and rack travel mods to your AFC and front plug will have you set fuel wise. Add a SPS62-66 and you'll be cooking with fire! I hope to get my cam installed, new HG, HD valve springs and a light P&P in the next 1-2 weeks, then I'll add a 66mm charger and hopefully get to 550-600 if I'm REALLY lucky

Is there a good writeup somewhere on These Adjustments? And where is the best place to get the LC Delivery Valves?

Thats pretty weak for all the stuff you have done. I laid down 510wrhp with

0 plate
191 DV's
220 injectors
4K GSK
and an S300
HTS tranny

Does anyone know what the maximum HP is that can be attained with a 215 pump without having it caibrated at a pump shop? It includes all the at-home mods you can do, AFC work, more rack travel, and big DV's and injectors obviously...

To do it correctly the proper answer here is...."A fat bank account or a handfull of credit cards".

Does anyone know what the maximum HP is that can be attained with a 215 pump without having it caibrated at a pump shop?
There is absolutely no way to even answer this as one persons knowledge of backyard mechanical work is different than another. While alot is written, told and said about homegrown pump mods I will offer this to you. There is nothing better than a pump done by a reputable shop, done the proper way and set up to your trucks needs.I have done the home grown way and will say save your cash and have one done the right way,you will not be sorry.....Andy

you can make a 12 valve produce 1500hp if you have enough money. 500hp can for sure happen

alright so this is also my goal, is everyone doing head gsk work to there heads? and what temps is everyone running?

im thinking that with these modds done i should be able to lay 500 down to the ground and still stay pretty safe with temps

-ported stage 2 head, o-ringed ARP studds
-60lbs valve springs
-370 injectors
-dv's
-#0 plate
-schotty intake
- ats manifold
- some sort of bigger turbo at about 55-60 lbs of boost
-4inch down pipe into my stacks
-my 160 pump reworked buy someone
- timming and my KDP done
- Tranny
- 4.56 gears in the rear end to push the 38.5 tires or maybe 4.10's or swap the rear out for a dana 80 and get 4.30's

now that should net me a safe 500 hp right?

maybe a valet switch to cut some power out.
