5.0 lever for a 47re

has anyone used a 5.0 lever in a 47re with a stock vavle body

I think the 5.0 lever is to aggressive. From what I understand It throws the timing off of the 2-3 shift

the only reason i was thinking about that is the 48re runs one in the stock 48re. thanks for the info

I'm no tranny pro, but from what I understand, there are other things that D-C did to run the 5.0 lever and not mess up the timing.. Not the best way, but the cheap way.

IMO, that lever isn't gonna do much for you, especially with a stock TC & VB.

Yeah, I remember reading on a parts site that you can't just throw a 5.0 lever on, you have to adjust the VB to handle it, just as Charlie said, it throws off the shift.

FWIW - DTT used a 4.4 Lever on my 47RE.

I've been told to use the 4.4 lever also when I go to have my tranny rebuilt, but if you look at the suncoast rebuild kit comes with a 5.0 lever.

Don't put the 5.0 lever in a stock tranny. DTT uses 4.4 because they setup the shift timing for that lever. Even on the 48RE's, the 5.0's are tossed.
