4WD Question
So My 4wd isn't working correctly. The light doesn't come on in the display, but more importantly, the fronts won't spin.
Where should I start?
Anyone else had this happen?
What do you think it is?

Vacuum leak? Might want to upgrade to a posi-lok. Here's a good price for you!

Sorry, couldn't tell you on the install since I've never done it. BUT, I've heard great stuff about posi-lok. Stuff like, you shouldn't even drive your truck without it. I don't use too much 4wd in my parts, otherwise I would've gotten it too.

Check the vacuum lines above the engine that run across it, mine did the same thing, turns out one was unplugged, put it back, worked fine ever since. but you have a vacuum leak somewhere, hopefully its just something that came unplugged.

Yep- then you don't have to wait to see if you "might" get 4x4 that day... I installed my p-lock after mine didn't work when I had a flatbed full of windows for my house, an icy/hilly driveway and NO 4x!!! It didn't take very long and works good- pull the transfer case into 4x, then pull the handle out.
only problem is when someone else drives your rig they get confused.

I have used posi-lock in the past. I had it on my 93 chevy. By far the cheapest and most effective fix out there. These things work. I did not know this was a problem on the dodge too, I will be getting one for my truck.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!
I believe I'll check for the loose connection of the vacume and then put in a posi. IT'd be nice to know this won't be happening again either way.
Oaborbag....
Where exactly are the lines ontop of the engine? any pics?
Anyone know if the price in wcb's post is a good price?
It looks like I'll be ordering one of those soon!
THANKS AGAIN ALL!

I put one in my old truck, 2000 S-10 ZR-2 on 33 TSL/SX. I loved it. it was a little bit of a pain to install buts thats only because it was IFS. My diaphram started engaging in 2wd and ground down the gear that is on the pass. side axle shaft. After two of those (90 bucks a pop) and a thrust washer in two pieces, I decided to install a posi-lok. You pull the **** to engage it and on mine I had to pull it out and then twist it clockwise and then pull it for it to engage. To release it I had to push the red button and do the reverse.
