47RH Mystery Switch Help
This is how I have my switch wired in.
I was hoping this would "force" lockup when you flipped the switch. However in 3rd & 4th all it does is hold the TC in lockup once its already locked up. It will lockup the TC in 1st & 2nd but only after you let off the throttle it will then lockup and stay locked up until you turn the switch off. Do I have the wired in wrong or is it just the nature of the RH tranny. Gonna call Dunrite tomorrow.

Hmm....looks like you have it wired correctly......If you are at a stop and you flip the switch and begin to accelerate through the gears, the correct operation is for the tranny to lock the clutch once the 2nd gear upshift has taken place....the clutch will then remain locked until you break the ground circuit to the PCM.......Are you sure you are getting 1st gear lock up?...that is not right.....You are correct that the switch "forces" lock up - it does, but only after the 2nd gear upshift.....is your TC stock?.....I would not recomend using that switch with a stock lock up clutch.

Thanks for the reply. I have the Dunrite single disc torque conveter and upgraded valve body. When I bought the tranny I was told this valve body allowed lockup in all forward gears and it will lockup in first if you manually put the gearshift selector in first. I havent tried turning the switch on from a start and going through the gears because I dont want to shift locked to locked 2-3.
If I go WOT from a start (OD off) the TC wont lockup until I back out of the throttle a good bit. Now even if I flip the switch once its in 3rd I still have to back out of the throttle for it to lockup. Was hoping it would just lockup when I flipped the switch.
Guess the 47RE in my 01 spoiled me.

I don't know anything about the VB mods you have done but that is irrelavent in this case since the switch should be bypassing the PCM lock up control......I'm not sure why the lock up is acting like that.....there is absolutely no reason why you can't have a RH perform the way you want it to.....the RE just has more electronic control than the RH but thr RH can certainly be set up to meet your preferences. Did you call Dunrite? They are very reputable and certainly know all the ins and outs of the RH.
