435 injectors
Hi all,
I took a breif hiatus form the site and the truck (other than driving it, cant stop doing that). I came back earlier this week and as I was poking around I heard mention of 435 injectors. Is this something new or did I just for some reason never run into them before? I did a quick search and don't find much info here. Where might I find a set of these beasts?
Thanks,
Travis

New Era has them http://www.neweradiesel.com/ Talk with Chuck. He's a good guy to deal with. I got a set about 2 months ago. Less smoke than my 370's and smoother with more power. Haven't really checked fuel mileage but seems about the same.

I just pulled a set out of my truck they were way to smokey I live at 7000 ft and I had my fuel plate fully to the rear and I could still black out the highway. Just before I pulled them I had a guy pull out in front of me and was doing 30 mph in a 55 I had to follow him for about a half mile before I could pass when I got to the passing zone there had been a motor home come up behind me when I mashed the throttle I looked back and could not see the motor home behind me. I figured I was going to get stopped for too much smoke so I pulled them.

when it puts other drivers at risk, as well as getting yourself in trouble through fines/ legal issues.
smoke was fun with a 10plate full forward and a loose star wheel lug it down blow some smoke. But now its kind of frustrating cuz you really have to becareful where you get on it with laser cuts they can cause accidents.

One black cloud of smoke doesnt hurt too much! But i agree with him, i have to drive on a very full 2 lane road for 20 km, before the 4 lane comes!
then sometimes you have to really floor it, to pass another vehicle, with another one coming against you!
I would not wanna drive in that constant cloud of smoke, even at 36 boost from the stocker on my 98 12valve, i backed up starwheel and plate, it makes close to the same power with less then half as much smoke.
BUT the other truck with the 435's and a HTB2 64, clears the smoke up pretty good, but makes great power!
clean power is better then an overfueld slow diesel, not to mention EGT's...
Buddy of mine has a HTB2 with 435's, which never clears the smoke!

part of the reason i pulled my 191s back out of the truck.. lotsa smoke, cant imagine what laser cuts would do for it...

Smoke is soot and I don't like putting that much more soot in the engine I put in a set of stage 5 injectors which were suppose to be +100hp and they make better power with less than half of the smoke of the 435's. Huge clouds of smoke really pi$$e$ of some people off. Maybe at a lower altitude it would not be as bad but with the hybrid turbo I could not get the smoke to an acceptable level for me.

yea that works if you know what you are doing but when my boy who is just getting his drivers license or my wife is driving they don't quite understand the princapal of being easy on the pedal even though it will out accelerate most vehicles on the road with just a quarter throttle.

What I meant was less smoke at idle than the 370's. Now with hard acceleration that's a different story. Right now I'm trying to get used to a turbo swap. Went from a HTB2 62/12 to a 64/14. A little slower spool but when it kicks, it kicks. I get more temp rise when the TC locks so I may be burning the fuel better or the air cleaner needs some attention.
