? 4000 gsk kit

Just installed 4000 gsk kit in a 1994 3500 ram had to keep tighting gov. springs from what the orig. springs were at.I had lost boost from 36 psi. to 20psi. and when it hits around 2000 rpms she feels real slugish but if you lift off of accelerator a little rpms pickup a little better. On hard acceleration foot to the floor she is slugish unless you lift off throttle a little. 1994 3500 RAM htbg turbo,100 plate,4000 gsk/w springs. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.

Why did you have to keep tightening the spring collars? You were supposed to measure the distance on the stock setup and set the distance the same. If I remember correctly mine were different and I compromised and set everything the same. I had no idle or high speed problems. I think there are some standardized measurements on a post or website but I can't remember which one.

Sounds to me like u have a boost leak

i cant think of anything else. Lemme ask this, do u have hanging RPMS? these are defined as the rpms hang at a certain rpm level and drop down really slow, If so, ur springs are too tight and u need to back them off a click at a time till they are fine...

Secondly, did u pull out all of the shims when u did the gsk? i pulled three out of each spring set on my truck...

Thirdly, does ur idle drop down all of a sudden to 250 or so rpms after what u thought was properly adjusted? if so, then ur springs are too loose... i suggest the inverse of the first above paragraph...

Finally, just how much did u have to adjust ur idle when u got the spring kit in? Just curious towards this...

I cant think of why the truck would be sluggish unless u either have a boost leak, or ur springs just arent tight enough....

Try the above, im stuck here as well, but it be what id do...

Tried to help...
