400-450hp in a 24v

My truck is a 98.5 24v.

I would like to sit around 400-450 rear wheel horsepower.

Right now I have RV275 injectors, Smarty, and a TST1 box. That gave me 275hp, 600ft/lbs torque.

I don't know a whole lot about diesel hop ups, so this is why I'm asking you guys. I don't want to buy something only to find out it's junk, when 10 people could have told me this if I asked!

I was thinking...
Keep the Smarty

add

Mach 2 injectors
TST 3
and a different turbo... HX35/40 or maybe HTT 62-14???

Any advice?

I tow and daily drive, so it has to be ok EGT wise. I have gauges and all, but I don't want to be feather footing it all the time cause I have a trailer.

auto or stick? an auto will need some serious beefing and a stick will need a good clutch.
look up Bob Wagner, he ran 400hp with Mach4 sticks and a hybrid 35/40 turbo along with his Smarty.
i have HUGE respect for HTT. give them a shout for their suggested parts and tuning.

DZ is not enough turbo for 450hp imo. I think the 400 that Bob did with it is pretty much the limit.

I'd look at a small turbine 62 like Phat shaft or HTB2.

Trans is already built to hold it. Billet convertor, Billet input,... upgraded planetaries to 48RE stuff... more clutches where I could put them, good shift kit, etc.

I didn't figure would need Mach 4 injectors... I was thinking that is what the sled pulling guys are running.

Mach 4s would be ok towing still?? How is the fuel mileage??

Hohn, DZ = 35/40 hybrid???

I loved my Mach 4's.

24 MPG empty and I could tow as much as I liked. Of course, the right foot factor was critical.

I could not tow with the Smarty on any level. Edge stuff tows nice.

That HP is not so hard to get. Add Mach 2's and a II Phat Shaft 62 14cm2 or comparable HHT, You'll be in the 400+ range

The setup in my signature with a edge comp instead of the adrenaline netted me 438hp. You wont need the twins a good single will work fine. i just had to see if I could build twins is all. When I dynoed I ran the Smarty on Sw2. It is addictive after you get to the 400-450 range you will want to go to the 500-550 range. Good luck with your project.

Ok, so how does Smarty, TST3, Mach 3s and a 62-14 sound??

I liked the idea of the HX35/40 for the cost, but if it ain't big enough, so be it.

Right now I am just planning, since I don't have the $$$. I wish I did, but I just dropped $600 to fly to Maine for Christmas and about $700 on the dog

Also anyone have info on the TST CE? They mention it on the webpage, but don't go into much detail.

On injectors only, no DC, I ran 356 hp and 750 tq. My BOMBs are listed in my sig. No EGT issues.

I have been reading some posts and see alot about the drag comp.

It's about $200 more than the TST3, seems to be the same power #s.

Which is better?

I see the drag comp adds timing, so I'd have to run Smarty #8 I suppose.
