#4 Fuel Plate- any one use it? What HP?

I recently swapped out my #8 TST plate for a #4. I am not sure on the EXACT specs on it, but I believe it's around 300HP and 750 ft. lbs. Does that sound right? I'll be calling TST when I can, but I am getting used to some pretty poor service from them....

It doesn't seem to have much more power on the bottom end acceleration then my old #8. When they talk about sliding it forward, are they referring to the plate itself, or the AFC housing cover? What might I be doing wrong?

Any advice/opinions would be appreciated.
The #4 plate in the stock location is about the same as the #8 full forward, with the #4 you really need Gov springs in it to take advantage of it, TST will tell you the same thing. Sliding the plate is just that sliding the plate forward or aft for more or less rack travel (more or less fuel) the star wheel and the AFC housing are for low end fueling before boost takes over. If you slide the plate do it on .020 or.030 incriments as EGT's will get out of control quick.

Jim

I dynoed as my sig. is at 383 HP with a #4 plate, the #8 plate will have more bottom end, as Jim says to take advantage of the #4 plate you need either a 3,000 or 4,000 RPM kit. With the 4,000 you will have to upgrade to the H. D. valve springs on both intake and exhaust. If you are planning on using an exhaust brake you will need the springs on the exhaust, so while you have the tower off you might as well replace both and install the 4,000 RPM kit.
