4" Exhaust

4" Exhaust
I'm thinking about going to a 4" system to keep EGT'S down. I'm hoping there is a system out there that will do the job without increasing in cab noise. I don't much care about how it sounds outside. My wife already hates the extra noise from the Stage 1 AFE I installed. Any ideas?

It's an easy install with hand tools and removal of the stock one is best done with a Sawzall. An electric impact helps spin tight the clamps while you hold the pipe where you want it. About a 3-4 beer job or if you don't partake - a few hours +/-

I run straight pipe 4" all the way out, and my wife doesn't notice much difference while inside the truck. Now drop the windows, and you can certainly tell the difference, but with windows up, it's not a great deal louder. She actually likes the throatier sound now.

Replacing it today with one of the Diamond Eye generic systems Rip Rook sells.

MBRP 4" Exhaust here. Excellent quality.... everything fits nicely with all parts needed.... flow thru muffler.... quiet, but not too quiet!

'Wilber1' - You don't list location but if in 'road salt' country, and keeping CTD a while, I would go with Stainless Steel!

Put on the Diamond Eye from Rip Rook yesterday. The hardest part was removing the old exhaust-went through 3 saw blades, and still needed the big hammer and pry bar.
New exhaust fit without a problem. Had to do a bit of trimming since I have a regular cab. I decided to mount the muffler in the stock location between the 2 double hangers. Rip recommends to move it forward of where I put it. Looks, feels, installs, and sounds like a quality system. Definitely a deeper tone than my Jannetty exhaust(which I had no problem with besides rust). I think I'll like it.
