3k gsk

I am debating on buying the 3k governer kit. My truck will run at 3000 rpms now right on the redline and I cannot herdly feel it defuel getting there. I am wondering if it may already have the kit installed. But I have read elsewhere that others can rev way more with the 3k kit. I know the valve springs can only take around 3200. Just curious on what you all thought. Also wondering about instillation. How hard is it? Thanks.

Your 98 won't deuel untill 2700rpm stock, a 3k GSK will let you fuel hard untill at least 3200rpm. I put one in my 97, and it was a noticable difference. A very nice one at that.

It is a pretty easy install, just have to be careful not to drop anything, due to being inside the injection pump.

You might try the free GSK that uses washers if you are unsure about spending the money.

Either case,

Nick is right. I have done one washer GSK, and its genius... Ive also done two regular GSK's and in all honesty, i perfer the 4K kit, but the washer mod works really really sweet.

If you are worried about droppin anything in the pump, just go thru the side of it, and dont worry about it. Ive done all of mine thru the side. But i do want to try one thru the top of the pump one day (bein that im gettin better at it)

OH yes, a pencil magnet is ur friend

Great link. After reading all of the discussion I believe I am going to just break down and buy the springs. Where can I find a step by step for installing springs? Also I have an adjustable boost elbow but I have not installed it yet because I have no engine mods except a BHAF and 4" straight pipe. Would it be beneficial to put it on and the boost up a few pounds to match the springs? It runs about 24 psi now before the wastegate opens.
