I plan on getting a new Ram in a year or two, and would like to go with the 11.00 r 20 XL (43.1" x 11.1"). I think with a 6" lift, and creative triming they would fit. And having some nice 20" rims would be cool.
Heres the tech data on the XL tires.

Very interesting! I take it that it's not much of an off-road truck though? I can't see it taking too many bumps without the tires banging into everything? Can't say I've ever seen 39's on a 2" lift!

I hate to crash the party...but Im not too crazy bout it...Its different here though. Seems like we do the complete opposite. My buddy has an F250 with a 13 inch ORU kit and 38x16.50x20 and we all think it looks bad. Guess it where your from.

I'm glad that someone else agrees with me!! I'm not trying to dog your truck man, but I prefer to sit above my tires and not stuff the crap out of them!! This picture is of my 2003 F250 with 12" and 38X15.50X16.5s and that to me was pefect.
But that's just me, if you like the way your truck looks, hey that's all that matters!!!

I too really like trucks with big lift kits. The bigger the better. But The main reason I did what I did was, so that I could still pull my truck into my garage. I live in Canada where it gets -40 in the winter sometimes. I really like having my truck in a heated garage. I have about 1" of clearence to pull into my garage right now, so a big lift was out off the question. Also I do alot of hiway driving, and I tend too speed, I wouldn't feel too safe with a big lift, it would be too tippy.
I work in the oil patch, and go off roading almost every day. The tires don't hit the fenders at all (I trimed them). The truck does very well in the mud. As most people know, all the suspension lift in the world won't help you when your hung up on your axles. The 39's give me great axle clearence.

I like minimal lift with the largest tires possible. When you go too tall, it looks dorky, like a rollerskate or something. It also costs more to lift it, the handling goes to he!!, and you have a better chance of driveline vibes. I love the way the XLs look on that truck! If I can't come up with some single 19.5 wheels, I might get some of those this winter.
BTW Cowhand, I bet you rub because you run wider tires. lets see, 37's, so they are probably 14" wide. The XLs are a little under 11" wide. I know its only 3", but it makes a big difference. I had a friend who ran 36" tires on a stock Dodge 1500 without rubbing, and they were narrow (around 10" wide). He didn't even have a levelling kit. But put a wide 35" tire under there and they would rub.
