370s, #10 plate, 3K GSK kit ---- EGTS?
Hey, what are you guys seeing for EGTS with these mods? Others are welcome to post with other plates/injectors. Since this is the hot and easiest setup for power, I am wondering how hot it gets. THANKS!

I hit 1500*+ with a #4 plate .020 forward. This is with an ATS manifold and 4" exhaust. Even with the plate slid back, you'll still see some pretty high EGT's with the stock turbo/manifold. The 370's push quite a bit of fuel. As for the GSK, do the gov springs and AFC spring kit. Well worth the money and they deliver instant driveability improvements.
You'll definitely need a turbo as well. I smoked like a freight train with the stock HX35. The new turbo helped alot, but I still peak at 1350* and I still smoke until the boost really comes in.
Don't bother with any of it (except the AFC and gov springs) until you get a trans behind that motor. Spend the money now or wait until the trans goes and let the truck sit in the driveway.

If your going to run 370's with that 175 HP pump you might end up getting DV's to make it work right, also look at some posts on EGT's like cowhand....that's a 215 pump....totally different world. A #10 in a little pump is quite liveable, I'd be more worried about the tranny.

I will be getting a Goerand tranny (hopefully) within a month or so, or when mine goes (whichever comes first).
What do you guys think about 330's? The truck will be for daily driving, plowing, and pulling trailers in the summer, with an occasional sled pull. I have not heard anybody talk about the 330's.

Im with jim on this one when i had 370's on my 180 pump with the 10, a 16 cm housing and a hybrid turbo i could hold hard with a load and push it over 1300-1350 but it took its time. Without the trailers behind me i could run 700-800 down the highway and WOT 1200, i never really had to back out, it was only with heavy trailers while climbing passes. All i had to to though was wind up the motor by dropping a gear and no more problem. Yeah youll have to watch your pyro.

With that set-up and 191 DV's you will have a good running truck but be short on air, a hybrid turbo or a HX40 will do a lot to cure the lack of air problem. If $$$ is not a problem twins is the ultimate way to go.

Here are my plans, This summer 1. get a tranny 2. Get a #10 plate (or grind mine down a bit) 3. 3k governor springs. 4. 16 cm turbo housing 5. Injectors
Next year it is time to get air. I want to wait on a turbo until I can afford twins. I guess my biggest thing is I don't want to buy anything twice.
How big of a difference are we talking between 300 and 370 injectors? Driveability, milage, cold starting I don't want to have any stumble, because that will get really annoying when plowing I think I may end up leaning towards 300's. What do you guys think?

Personaly the order in which I would do the mods is:
1. Tranny
2. Gov. springs
3. Plate (#10) or Injectors (370's)
4. Intake (Scotty II)
If you are plannin on doin twins and/ or dont want to buy anything twice I would wait on anything else (namely the 16cm housing and unless you are planning on using that in your twin setup). I dont think Id feel real safe with the plate AND injectors on the stock turbo, but thats just me.
Then:
5.Turbo (KSB1 good as a single and in a twin setup)
6. exhaust
7. DV's
8. Plate or Injectors (which ever you didnt do first.)
Then:
9. TWINS and GRINS
Im sure not everyone will agree with my order but like I said that is just how I personally would do it. The great thing about these trucks is that there is way more than one way to get to the desired hp level .
Good luck and I hope you pack a fat wallet

Yo Matt ... consider the "twins ready" PDR40. It really spools great with the Valet switch off ... i.e. no rack travel.
That way, you've got 1/2 of the twins already & you don't need to waste the money on the 16 housing.
Oh, 300 injectors worked very well. Very driveable.

I don't know about that combo, but what's working is the 40 or 35 along with the HT3B/26 or 23. Jim buddy is running an even larger lower/primary killer flow charger.
I talked with Mark @ PDR about paring up the Twins ready 40 & spool up. Mark said the HT3B-23 is an option for even better spool up.
