3705 Superchips
Is the 3705 Superchips programer worth fooling with? What are the advantages and disadvantages with this programer and what is the best setting? Thanks

Its not really worth fooling with...the only advantage i have seen with htem is that you can change shifting and points etc...but you might be better off with a comp or something similar....Cant say much cause i dont know exactly what kind of truck you have..

i bought one, it does what it claims, which is make a bit more power, and i almost DOUBLED my fuel mileage. to me it was well worth it and it was cheap/easy and has already paid for itself more than once. the other reason i went with it is because you can change your tire size/ recalibrate your speedo. and search trouble codes. i admit there are other products which will make more power, but it has been fine for me.

My truck is a 1999 SLT quad cab 4X2 24valve diesel w 101k, original tranny with no mods on truck and I was just wanting to know if it would be worth spending the $300 or so bucks for this programer. I get about 20 to 21 mpg as it is running empty. Thank you for any info. John72

If you are wanting a little kick int he pants for power, get you an Edge EZ. They are great little boxes which can be installed/uninstalled in minutes. They also have 3 different settings, so if you wanted just a little more power, you could use the lowest one so your mileage wont suffer(it may get better depending on how you drive). Or you could use the hottest one(65hp maybe?) which really helps make the truck a lot more driveable. You would be very pleased with the Edge EZ im sure if you are wanting just a little more power. I believe they are maybe around $400? not sure, but they arent much over that.

John72,
Suprisingly we sell a lot of the 3705's. The brand name is a confidence to some customers that aren't looking for a real big bang HP wise and they do like the tire size changes etc etc.
Now we sell a lot more of the van Aaken and Edge because of the market awareness of their extra HP etc. If you have any questions just call us up and we will be glad to answer them.
