325-350hp and over 600ft-lbs

Alright, been thinking while driving. I live 60 miles from work and my radio in the truck hardly works.... So I was thinkin, I would like to get around 325-350 ponies and over 600ft-lbs of torque out of my truck. I have read a lot about the smarty so that is already on the list, at least for the bug fogger option I have heard about! Am I looking at injectors and uping my boost to get to those numbers. Will I have to go to a bigger exhaust to keep control of my egt's? Or are those kind of numbers gonna be ok on a straight piped exhaust?

What got me to thinkin about this is a young kid at work. Has momma and daddy's money, bought him one of those 350hp GTO's. Work at a GM dealer but I would not give you a warm bucket of......pee pee for one. Told the kid that one day we would have to get out and race down the track, his car and my truck. He just laughed and said, "ok". So now my mission is on, have 25,000 miles on my warranty so time to plan and get the green backs to purchase my goods.

So if I match his 350hp, I'll have my gross, head gripping torque. Would I smoke him or just hang at his door? Or, god forbid, get blown away.

Don't want the 700hp, twin turbo, two liter bottle sized injector MONSTER, actually would like that, just can't afford it!! What are ya'lls thoughts on my options for these "goal" numbers??

An EZ and 275's will easily put you there. Should be 300hp/600tq. Definately go smarty over the EZ though. So much nicer.

Oh, you'll need about 450-500hp if not more to run with his GTO. Frist off is weight. Your truck weighs double what his car does. 2nd, standard trucks are not known for their speed.

You'd probably need more like 600hp to hang with the GTO. 5 speeds are for pulling and not for racing. You could always ask him to hook up.

with a 5spd truck you will need over 500hp to the wheels and nice dual disc clutch to get anywhere near a stock GTO's 1/4 mile time.

trust me on this one...i have 430hp/790tq and i run 15.8 with a 6spd...they shift very slow and are hard to launch, i know this for a fact

300 hp is well over 600 ft lbs.

I am at 300.3 hp right now, and 691 ft lbs.

I agree with u there

With a severely slipped stock clutch, and enough fuel for over 400 rwhp, at 70 mph at 2000 rpms im at 330 rwhp and 855 tq.. Hand calculated with that tq calculator on here, my peak tq i do believe is in the 900's... Just need better gauges, and a clutch that holds...

Yup! Need an Auotmatic with about 500 hp to compete with him.
But, if you pick a rainy day, with wet pavement, and launch in 4x4.... you might have a chance with less
