315 Brand new BFG tire noise and small shake at 70???

I just bought two weeks ago a new set of Bf goodrich all terrains and they are awesome but when you go down the road they are real smooth until you hit 70 or 80. They have a small shake to them and start making a wierd tire roar noise almost like a mud tire, is this just cause the engine is so freeging heavy in my CTD or do you think bad tires. It took them about an hour to get them balanced out right, and they have alot of weight on them. Anybodyelse have these problems with the BFGs

i have BFG AT's on my '01 and they seem very smooth at all speeds, absolutely no tire noise. sounds to me like it might be a balancing issue?

I would go to a tire shop with a newer balancer like a Road Force.

Sounds like maybe the balance guy didnt know what he was doing or a crapy balance machine

Ive had several sets of BFG 35"ers and were all quiet and smooth and balanced well with little amont of weights

315 BFG's are known to be prone to death wobble. Sounds like you might be getting a little death wobble.

Yeah thats cool, i was thinkin I could use a newer steering stabilizer. And you wanna talk about death wobble, I went for a ride in my buddies 01 ford psd and it is lifted 13 inches with 38.5s and dude s*** is all I can say, we were doing 60 down a country road he was using both hands on wheel and we were still taking up the whole road. Not to mention the bottom of the door was to my chest and no step bars, yeah so my other buddy had to give my short self a boost to get in it. It has stacked bully dog boxes, supposeably, but the thing doesn't smoke at all and is a huge dog, NO *****, made me smile when I got back in my CTD and barked the 35s when leaving.

BTW 315/75/16's are known to have death wobble. Lots of third gen guys running your size of tire with no problems.

I have BFG All Terrains on my '01 2500. They're LT305/70R16s on Moto Metal rims.
I was going to go on a highway trip last summer, and had the tires rotated/balanced.
They shook like hell when you'd get up to about 65.
I had them rebalance them, and they still do it.

sometimes a rebalance will not do it, try to rotate the set front to backs, see if you can loose it that way, first orff' cause you do it yourself for free. second demand a rebalance from the shop that did the work, if they can not get that roadforce machine to read all zeros it may be a mounting problem, have them un mount and remount rebalance one at a time and test drive it till they get the correct tire. A lift and spin could pinpoint an out of round tire, or a improperly mounted one. tire lifted off the ground, rotate with a fixed object in center of tread and watch for out of round.
