315/75/16 Tires Will they fit my 2001

OK looking for some help. Want to put the 315/75/16 on my 2001 2500qcsb. My question is will a leveling kit be enough or do I need a 4 inch lift. I like the tire filling the wheel well look. Thanks for your help everyone.

I had that exact tire on 16x8 with about 4" backspace and a 2" coil spacer, got some minor rubbing, just irritating not damaging.

now have 35x12.5R17s on H2 rims with same suspension, NO rubbing at all. rims have about 5.5" backspaceing. Thats where its at I think.

I had those on the factory alloys and they fit fine with and without the leveling kit.

There should be a pic in my gallery of them on the truck.

I've got 315s on mine with the Skyjacker D25 coils, stock wheels, and the only rub is on the control arms at full lock on the steering wheel. I've tried a little, but I've never been able to compress the suspension enough to make them rub anywhere else.

About how big can you go without having to do anything suspension wise to make them fit?

with a leveling kit, 315's on stock 16x8's are as big as you can go without risking some severe rubbing. Depending on the tires you go with you'll get rubbing with the steering wheel fully turned, as mentioned, but that's about all. A lil' aesthetic scraping, but nothing to hurt the truck....

I should probably mention that if you buy through a tire store, they wil try (or at least they did with me, and I know when I worked at Big O, I was told to discourage it) to talk you into 305's, and claim that they "won't fit". Ignore the tire monkeys ;-)
