300 to 370 injectors
I started out with the 300 injectors a year and a 1/2 ago. Just for my information and a good deal I bought a set of 370's. Today I installed them, and Here is what I have to say.

I was expecting a big difference in the switch but I can't really feel one. My EGT's are up some not much. My truck smokes less than before "Keep in minde I only changed the injectors and nothing else" I might have gained 10-20hp "MAYBE". The biggest difference is turbo lag. I can really feel a difference in how fast my turbo spools up. It is a lot faster than when I had the 300's.
Are they worth the extra money if you already have the 300's? I think not.
DM01

Tom,
I replaced my stockers (180's) for the 300's last November and it made a huge difference in power. Next time I see you at one of the NETDP meetings we'll go for a ride.

Re:300 to 370 injectors
Sorry but a guy offered me 300$ for my 300's and I only pais 3704 for my 370's so I could not pass up the deal.
As posted before I saw a big difference between the 180hp and the 300's. I just think that all that bad press that the 300's get is wrong. They may not burn lthe fuel like the 370's but as in HP they don't add that much if any. What I'm trying to say is that if you find a set of 300's for a ggod price they will work out just like the 370's.
I don't know how they will effect my MPG's but I will be doing a test here soon to see how they help/hurt.
DM101 class is over for today.

Re:300 to 370 injectors
One other thing I noticed is that after putting the 370 injectors in My truck is really jumppy under 2krpm. At firrst I figured it was me foot moveing the pedal. Not so. If I'm driving down the road and hit a nice sized bump the truck will start to jump. This is no little rocking motion. It is a jerky neck breaker. I thought that at first I could just either let off the go pedal or mash it and it would go away. If I let off the pedal it stops, if I push it the jerking will continue until 1900 and it will easy up until it stops.
Any Ideas as to why this is happening? Never hapend with my 300's
DM01

Re:300 to 370 injectors
Do you have to change out the delivery valves when you use the 370's with the 180 hp pumps??? I have heard that its a good idea to change to 191 delivery valves because of this situation..
I may have went down a rabbit trail...

Rick

Re:300 to 370 injectors
I have the 175 HP pump with 370's and I have not noticed a problem. As far as the jerking motion when you hit a bump, I do have that problem. I don't know if it is because of the injectors or not. I never really thought of that but I think I will look into that. I do plan on putting the 191 DV in as soon as I can afford them. So much to do so little money.

Re:300 to 370 injectors
Lets throw something else into it...could the return springs on the throttle linkage be weak and right foot be causing the problem.
I had this problem of bucking when I hit a bump and pulling my 5er. I talk to DC and they said that yes there was a service bulletin on this very problem. But being the nice people they are wanted to charge me $200 to replace the springs and a couple of other items.
I decided to go down and get a package of generic springs and matched the springs length but a strong spring..solved the problem for about $7...
This fix would be cheaper than dv's..

Rick

Re:300 to 370 injectors
From what I have gathered (who I have talked to), the bad rep on the 300s is unfounded. In fact, they have a BETTER pattern than the 370s, they just don't dribble in as much fuel.

Since installing 370s in mine, the engine runs considerably rougher when cold. Boost took a huge jump. Too much, but I turned my boost controller down. [Some of that is because of the hybrid and 12cm2 housing.]

Re:300 to 370 injectors
I believe the delivery valves on the 180 pump will work with the 370's. I'm pretty sure you need to change the DV's if you have a 160 pump
