So does this do anything to you're power? Is the filter actually allowing more air through or is it just the outlet size that makes the difference?
Is the filter an oil media type or dry?

This filter will flow quite a bit more than a BHAF. I noticed maybe a small egt difference at best.

Did I ask a stupid question?
I would like to use this setup on my daily driver which also pulls a 12,000 lb trailer a lot of the time and i would like to know if this will work or am I going to look at a engine rebuild in a yrs. time because of inadequate filtration.

Filtration should be adequate since they advertise it for this engine. However, I personally would go with a dry filter, like BHAF or AEM. I don't like oiling air filters.

You can cut a 4 inch hole there in the corner of the firewall and get some fresher cool air in there, and it sounds like a 747. I have mine cut with one of the old Scotty 2 systems.

Ok.One last silly question. You guys are saying to buy a 4-6 reducer at the hardware store. Just what kind of a reducer are you refering to. Is it ABS or metal or what? Got any pics?

I was about to mention the same thing. It didn't help spool or egts but it sure made the turbo sound louder =)

ok i just ordered a amsoil part # EaAU6080. its a dry filter, ill let yall know how it turns out.

I hope yours turns out better than mine> I picked up my Amsoil 6080 filter and spent the better part of three hours running around the city to find a 6"-4" reducer. Finally found one at a plumping and heating place. Got home and went to put it together and lo and behold the intake elbow on my turbo is 4 1/4" not 4" like was posted so I guess its back to the drawing board.
So is the turbo inlet on the 24v's smaller than the 12v's or is everyone just clamping it down that far? I can clamp it tight on the 4" flange but just don't feel good about it.

i work as a hvacr tech. so the company that i work for had a 6-4 reducer sitting on the shelf. its ment for ac ducts it will work fine, i also painted it flat black. i did get my filter in today but hadnt had time to put it on!
