2nd and 3rd gear launch results!!!

Well, just got back from the first time at the track since I put the turbo, clutch and injectors. Had a lot of fun. I did 2nd gear boosted launches for most of the time, with those the best 60' was 2.00 sec, but 4th gear runs out just in time I shift to fifth right as I finish.
The best run with 2nd gear launch was
60'-2.005
ET-15.312
mph-91.6

The I went for some 3rd gear launches, I was surprised how much it still takes off from the line, then pulls all the way through 3rd, felt good.
Best 3rd gear launch time:
60'-2.408 (definitely slower than the 2nd)
mph-94.03
ET- 14.87

So happy with the 3rd gear launches, was launching at about 25psi, I bet boosting higher will help that 60' time a lot. Met lots of other diesel heads too!

It was a lot of fun getting the three pedal method down. Seemed to work best to pre-stage, then build like 10psi, stage, then build until the green light, getting a video up soon.

I assume you're launching in 4 wheel drive? Why do you think the slower 60' netted so much better time? Does that one saved shift help that much, or do you think you just got better at banging the gears as you raced more?

Do you lift when you shift? What size tires?

Never mind, I see your tire size now... same as me. Does your comp defuel at 2700 rpm? I bet an Adrenaline that fuels to 3500+ would net better trap speed and lower ET. Looks fun though, I'm jealous, I've never ran the 1/4.

Yeah, 4x4 for sure. I thin for sure skipping the shift from 2-3 saved a lot of time, and lost boost. 3rd still lunges forward and just keeps pulling....having only two shifts is good, it also seems like the 2-3 shift was the hardest for me, not sure why, missed it one time and just coasted across the 60'

For your clutches sake learn how high a rpm you need to launch at without the prestage boost. You're letting the clutch for a full five seconds from what I saw on the video. It'll last longer if you keep the slipping at three seconds or less.

I'm from Golden, just up the road from Bandimere, but I won't be there for the races.

As for the clutch, yeah, I'm learning to balance the clutch and fuel, then stage. The other 3rd gear launch was a bit shorter.

Try taking the RPMs to 3k and then letting out the clutch as you go full throttle. At that rpm, boost comes in real fast, and you're not sitting there riding the clutch while you're not moving.

Will do, I need to remember I can sacrifice the RT also to get my launch right.

Right on. The main point I was trying to make is the last thing you want to do is warm the clutch up to critical temps then flog on it. Your clutch will like you better if you keep the slipping under three seconds.

Now if you want to have fun try some power shifts. If you need to let the rpms drop for the shift, so be it, but bring the rpms back up before letting the clutch back out. Instant boost in any gear. Yes my clutch hates me

Let the rpms drop? Just keep it pegged to the floor. The next gear will bring it back off the rev limiter.
