275's are in! but are my results what they should be?

got my RV275's installed today. Really wasn't very hard at all. I managed to sneak the rear set of lines out past the loop on the back of the head, didn't have to take that off.
I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed. I don't feel near the boost in power that I thought I would. I'm not sure if I actually feel any or if I just think I do. I don't know if swapping from the HO pump to the SO pump a while back killed my power that bad that the injectors just don't make that big of a difference or what. I would have thought a 30-40hp gain would be noticeable even in something as heavy as my pickup. My bottom end power still sucks, but I think id did improve somewhat. With my old HO pump, I could hit 1100* egt and 21lbs. of boost. With the SO I could only hit 900 and 19. With the 275's my boost hasn't increased at all, but my egt's will hit 1000*. Will have to take it out tomorrow when I have day light to see if I get any kind of haze out the tailpipe. Does this all sound about right though? It does seem to run slightly smoother.

I already had an EZ when I added my 275's, but I could tell a difference. That said, I don't know about the injectors only. I think that if you added something like an XZT+ you would notice a considerable difference.

Ive been running the rv275 injectors for about 3 years. No other power mods and a automatic trans with DTT torque converter and valvebody. When i first installed them i could tell a differance in the sound of the motor(smoother and a little more quiet). Looking at boost gage it did climb a little faster while accelerating. Basically with my driving style(easy and light on peddle) at 60mph i have around 5-6 psi boost with stock injectors it was 4-5 psi boost ant 60mph. I do like them better than stock and it did increase fuel mileage by .5 to 1 mpg. hope this helps.

Throw an EZ or similiar box and an elbow on there. It'll bring a smile to you.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but with an SO pump on an HO engine you need some sort of timing box to get it back to the HO pump levels for most lower rpm operation. At the higher rpm the SO wins.

I know that when I put the 275's in I felt a power increase and saw slightly higher egt's. ENgine did run well on them. I did not get much haze or smoke with them and no box.

HOs generally have a hair less timing, from what I understand.

The SO pump should not be that big a difference. HOs do make more of bigger injectors though...

I could tell the difference when I put my Rv275 injectors in.
Although I already had a Van Aaken V5 installed. I think
for towing the HO pump is better.

I new I would take a hit in bottom end power going to the SO pump, just not as much as I actually did. Unfortunately, my pump died this past summer, and with my future plans calling for 150hp injectors and a box, I figured I'd be testing the limits of a HO pump if I went with one to replace my old one. Thats why I did the SO already. I do have an adjustable boost elbow coming from Vulcan, should be here on Monday. I'm holding out for the Quad Adrenaline to be released to the public before I buy a box. I'll play around with the elbow once I get it, but I don't think its gonna help right now. LIke I said, I was seeing 21lbs with my old HO pump, and only 19 with the SO, and I don't even hit 21 now with the injectors I put in tonight. Oh well, I'll have to fill it up this week and run a tank of fuel through it, see if my mileage improves. If it does, then I think I'll consider them a worth while purchase. I was just hoping for a slight boost in power too.

I run 150hp injectors with the HO pump and it works very well, imo.

But you are just a wire tap away from forgetting any hint of desire for an HO pump

Yeah, I can't wait, but unfortunately I gotta do the clutch first I hope I did the right thing going with the SO pump. I figured if I'm gonna go with Mach 4's and a quad adrenaline, I'm gonna really be testing the fueling limits of a HO pump. I wanna be in the 500-550hp range, and was always told that 500 is pretty much the limit of the HO pump.

Boost elbow will not do much unless you have a box or a boost-fooler. ECM will defuel at 20lbs.

I think its higher on a HO ECM though as I used to hit 21 when I still had my old HO pump on.

My HO doesn't see ECM defueling until 26psi.

The wastegate in factory HO setups is set at 21psi, but the ECM limit is 26psi.

When I ran just the HRVP and Jammer2 sticks, I could hit 35psi no prob. With the Smarty on, I was getting the same thing, but more power. This was in winter time on thin fuel. Summer, I was getting in the 40psi range with that combo.
