275 Injectors

READY TO DO THE INJECTOR CHANGE .
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 275 INJECTORS I READ ABOUT IN THESE FORUMS AND THE STANDARD INJECTORS THAT CAME IN MY TRUCK?
WORTH WHILE THING TO DO?

not sure I think it is like about 40 more ponies. I've been running 275'S about a year now. with the edge you have and other mods everything should play nicly together. Most people arn't happy with 275's for long and end up selling them for something larger. I'm happy the way my set up is. But I'm saving up for a banks system. and tranny upgrades.

if you use your truck hard as you say,,stick with the 275`s.they work really well with the ez,improve towing a good deal,,and get super mileage.without turbo upgrades, any bigger injectors will get you hot towing heavy.

The RV275s will make a difference. - But you may want a little more.

20014x4 - fwiw - I had the Banks Powerpack etc for almost a year. Eventually had some problems with the Ottominder and now the only Banks parts I have left on the truck is the exhaust system. I even took off the high ram - found a small leak when I pressure tested the system.

Go for the 275's for now. My Dad has a set in his 3500 and had pulled his fiver probably 70K miles with them in. No problems what so ever, great power.

275s are proven and a great bargain.

But I would say that a Mach 1 or 1.5 EDM is at least as good in the bang-for-buck department, maybe better.

my thinking:

275s= 40hp (ETH) 33hp (ETC) for about $350
Mach 1s= 65hp $500
Mach 1.5=85hp, $700 (On sale for $575!)

the 275's cost about $8.75/hp
the Mach 1s cost $7.69/hp
The mach 1.5s cost $6.75/hp

All three of these can easily be run with stock turbo and won't get too hot towing.

Those Mach 1.5s look pretty good at that sale price of $575, don't they?

OOOO THE TEMPATION!!

Stands to reason that for economically thinking people it must be ...

drumroll

Mach 6 210 HP $1200.00 Sale $1075.00 so it's only 5.11 US$/hp

With the money you save you can get a nice primary turbo for the truck!

On a serious note now:
The EDMs are giving you better economy and lower EGTs for the same power. I'm using Mach3s and am very satisfied. (As far as I can ever be satisfied with a vehicle's performance)
I do have better mileage with them than with the stock injectors as long as I manage to keep my foot from the loud pedal. (I'm still driving a wee bit more quickly than with the truck stock)
herb: In any case I'd talk to your tranny vendor about going up in the hp department, maybe he'll want you to make some adjustments to accomodate the different characteristics.

A point to remember with a hard working truck is that the 275's are a stock injector for the ISB and uses the HX35 turbo with them.

Oops that got deeper than I planned. I guess you have the 9 cm housing. Well it would do better, cooler with the 12 that is for sure. Someone else needs to come in with more info on the HY35 I have never run one. I am sure you can run it.

im still running one,,with the 275`s and an ez,,you wont have any egt problems.the only way i see getting it warm would be in a heavy load,,lugging condition.im now running dd3`s with it,and ill tell you straight out,,theres no way you could pull anything with 100hp injectors with the hy-35 on.i dont care if you have extrude honed or edm...........if you go the 275 route, you`ll need to turnbuckle your wastegate to get some more boost to help keep it cool,if you go bigger than those, you`ll need to either get a turbomaster or rig your own to control boost levels.they`ll get to high without opening the gate...im not saying edm`s arent the way to go,im just saying for 250 bucks,,you cant beat the 275`s..............bama
