Good pics - thanks.
Now, for the really difficult part - screwing up the courage to drop that big 5600, break it down, re-install the 4wd output shaft, and go back up and in with it.
Well - that, and notching the frame for clearance.
Good job, man.

The input splines for the 47 & 48RE are the same shaft splines. Not sure for the manuals. I know you can get a NV4500 bolted up as well, but its different than the 47RE.

94-02 Dodge use either a 241DLD (light duty) or a 241 DHD (heavy duty)
2003+ Dodges use the 271 (manual shift) and the 273 (electric shift)

So the Dodge manual shift unit is what you picked up. And since the 48 and 47 have the same output shaft---no problem! So to rehash you shortened the rear shaft? What about the front one? Did you completely remove the funky vacuum connector and all the lines that went to the top of the 241? What did you have to do to the shift lever? Is the shift pattern different? You made some mention of a Ford shifter or???

I redid both driveshafts in my conversion, because they were twisted off.
The vacumn connector in the top of the 241 fit nicely in place of the electric actuator on the 271, so 4WD works just like stock.
I have a 98 so my shift linkage just had be be adjusted with the nut on the rod.. Its identical as far as range placement. I don't recall saying anything about a ford shifter.
94-97 guys have to remember that:
1. Your shift pattern is different, but its doable with some rigging
and
2. Your speed sensor is in your Tcase, you'll have to figure something out for the speedometer.. My speed sensor on my 98 is in the rear diff.
