235 vs 245 Engine
What are the major differences between the 235 and 245 engines? I have a 245 with everything on it that the rod bearings are bad in. I also have a 235 that has no accessories. Will all the accessories from the 245 work on the 235 engine and it still run correctly? I'm talking about the fuel pump, turbo, ECM, etc? Basically all of that has been stripped off the 235. Any suggestions or has anyone interchanged parts from the different motors? I know there is a compression difference but wasn't sure what other differences there were.

post up what years of 235 and 245 you are speaking of. yes there are alot of parts that will be interchanged. but there is slight differances with having a auto and manual trucks. injection pump, and ecm are the 2 main things popping in my head. but the major hard parts for the engine are closely the same. what i mean is if i remember the HO/245 manual 6 speed. the compression is diff than a auto. so I'm at work right now and will be for the next 48 hours so I will do so research if I can on this more.
I know there are alot more members that can give you info also.

The 235 is out of a 2000 model and the 245 is out of a 2001 model. The 245 had a 6 speed manual behind it but I'm not sure about the 235. The 235 I got in the condition it's in. It had already been taken out of the truck.

so your 235 motor could have came from a AUTO or a 5 speed Maual. the 245 yes it came from a HO/6 speed manual.

if you have diff Turbos also here is this.
INFO ON OEM TURBO’S
www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/FAQ/turbo_faq.htm
cant remember if the engine plaque has a VIN. if it does take the Vin to dealership and they can look up and print off a complete build sheet off that Vin and that would tell you what you exactly have or where it came from.
