2003's and changes for the future HD

i was reading that dodge is changin some of the computer hardware and probably software in the near future in the heavy duty trucks to become exhaust brake compatable. what will this do for continued support for the limited model years with the different hardware and software, if this is even true?

You can get the 03's now with an exhaust brake. Why would they have to change the computer software?

Re:2003's and changes for the future HD

I have a 03 CTD HO with the 48RE. My dealer is unable
to install the Jacobs exhaust brake until DC makes changes
to the software. They told me I could have the brake installed
right away after I purchased the truck, then they called DC
engineers and told me I would have to wait until changes were
made !!!....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
No timeframe either @!

its not going to happen the 03's and early 04's will not support the exhaust brake with the auto. My concern is that they are changing software and hard ware on the new truck so it will be exhaust brake compatible what will this do for future upgrades and continued support of boxes like the EZ and so on.

Re:2003's and changes for the future HD

If thats the case, what about the owners of 03's with the
HO CTD and the 48RE who had their dealers install the
Jacobs exhaust brake already ?...Their on owners of these
trucks on this site and some on the RV-Net site who have
exhaust brakes installed already !!! Why are some dealers
installing them and others are not !!!!

What gives ?
